Lookout Mountain Water District customers are billed at the end of each month and payment is due by the 24th of the following month. Customers have many payment options available so they can select what is most convenient. Recurring or one-time payment by credit card, debit card, or e-check by UtilityTrakR. Online payments through our UtilityTrakR online portal system can be made either manually monthly OR set up to be paid automatically monthly by credit card, debit card or e-check. This portal is a customer-controlled account with a secure set-up. Security credentials are required (for your initial registration, you will need the unique Security Code that is shown on your monthly bill). Further instructions will be provided when you get to the customer portal. Accounts moving to recurring auto-pay via credit card (plus using e-bills vs. paper bills) will be eligible for a $5 credit on the next month's bill.
ACH Auto-Pay. ACH debits will be automatically scheduled monthly on or about the 20th. Customers will still receive a bill each month for review, and it will indicate that the debit (payment) is scheduled (“Auto-Draft”). Customers will need to email LMWD immediately after receiving the bill if wishing to cancel or change the ACH debit amount authorization prior to the next scheduled auto-draft. This authority is to remain in full force and effect until Lookout Mountain Water District has received written notification from account owner of its termination in such time and manner as to afford Lookout Mountain Water District and Financial Institution a reasonable opportunity to act on it. Customers should also confirm autopay cancellation if planning to sell or transfer the property. To register for ACH payments, please call the office at (303) 526-2025 to supply the necessary information. Accounts moving to ACH auto-withdrawal (plus using e-bills vs. paper bills) will be eligible for a $5 credit on the next month's bill.
Online Banking or “Bill Pay”. The customer’s bank may offer online payments (generated from their online interface or mobile app). The "remit to" address is P.O. Box 17780, Golden CO 80402. Each payment should reference Resident ID. The customer must specify the vendor to be paid, mailing address, amount due, payment date, etc. Some banks charge fees for their bill pay service, some offer it in a service package at no cost, some charge a transaction fee, and some include the service with other monthly service fees. For online bill pay payments, the District simply waits for the bank to send a check for credit to the customer’s utility account. Customers should be aware that they are responsible for having correct information for the bill to be paid correctly and when it is due, as the customer’s bank account has no interface with the District's bank account or with the customer’s utility account. This procedure is a substitute for the customer writing a physical check and mailing it; instead, the bank mails a physical check to the District. Recently, we have had significant delays in receiving checks from the banks of customers using online bill pay. It seems to be related to slower postal service, but be advised that this could be an issue.
Payment by check. Each payment should reference Resident ID and/or remittance stub should be returned with the check. The payment address is P.O. Box 17780, Golden CO 80402. Currently, the District provides pre-addressed envelopes for this convenience at no charge if requested. The check should be written payable to LMWD or Lookout Mountain Water District.
No payment method is “fool-proof”; each has its inherent risks of fraud, loss, theft, late delivery, or error.
